Aldi welcomes daily visitor Robin

A Robin that has won the hearts of shoppers by flying into an Aldi every day is welcome to stay, supermarket bosses have confirmed.

A petition had been launched amid fears shop bosses might trap and kill the bird.

But Ben Jones, assistant manager of the store in Brecon, Powys, said: “We have no intention whatsoever of removing the robin, nothing is going to happen to the robin."

“It’s welcome for as long as it wants. He normally comes in through the loading-bay doors when we have a delivery but, if not, he’ll sit at the trolley bay until we open the doors at 8am.

“It’s a lovely thing to come to work to in the morning. Everyone loves him. You can usually find him on the specials aisle – he must have an eye for a bargain.”
