Heartbreaking photos show dog tied up and abandoned by cruel owner

The RSPCA has released distressing photos of an abandoned dog as they hope someone will recognise the pet and they can find the perpetrators.

The pet was discovered dumped outside an RSPCA centre after being abandoned by her owner overnight. The photos show the dog peering through the railings of a metal gate waiting for help.

The unwanted pet was tied up to a gate and discovered by shocked staff with her head poking through desperate to be freed on Wednesday morning.

The little grey Staffie, now named Misty, was dumped at RSPCA Woodside Animal Centre, in Leicester.

Misty looked gaunt and also had been left with cuts on her nose, and her skin is in a bad state.

RSPCA inspector Karl Marston is now investigating what happened to the poor pooch, and hopes to bring the offenders to justice.

He said: “Poor Misty was skinny and her ribs were clearly visible.

“She also had some cuts on her nose and an uncomfortable skin condition.

“She was microchipped so we’ve made enquiries with the contact details registered but understand she was rehoused a number of years ago.”

Karl is calling for the public to help find the perpetrators.

He added: “We’re now hoping the public may be able to help with our investigation so anyone who recognises Misty should contact our appeal line on 0300 123 8018.”
