Firefighters rescue horse after it falls into deep sinkhole

A horse got itself in a bit of a night-mare after it fell into a sink hole leading it to be saved by firefighters.

The frightened animal was found stuck in the sink hole at Cockfield Fell, County Durham when the firefighters arrived at the scene.

Calming the horse down, the firefighters tied a rope to the scared creature, managing to dig out a channel to create a step which helped the animal hop out of the hole on its own.

The horse was then seen running free after its lucky escape.
