Could this be the least dramatic Isle of Wight coastguard rescue to date?

COASTGUARD rescue crews were called to rescue a calf along a stretch of beach outside of Ventnor, on the Isle of Wight this weekend.

Crews from Coastguard Rescue Service responded to an incident along the cliffs at St Catherine's Lighthouse near Ventnor after reports of a calf in need of rescue assistance.

A local said: "There were two coastguard four wheel drives and loads of other cars with coastguards in them.

"About a dozen coastguards and rescue people on the cliff."

Ventnor Coastguard confirmed that a search was carried out....before the calf rescued itself!
