Spaniel saved by RNLI after plunging 100ft off cliff into the sea
When her devoted spaniel Yogi tumbled 100ft off a cliff, distraught Emily Linehan thought it was the end.
But after splash-landing in the sea, the plucky pet scrambled on to a ledge. And when Miss Linehan called 999, an RNLI lifeboat crew found him cowering and took him safely back to shore.
Despite injuries to his legs, eye and a fractured spine, Yogi should recover from the fall in St Mary’s Bay, Torbay, Devon.
Miss Linehan said: ‘I’m so grateful to the crew. There are no words for how I feel.
'It looks like he’s going to make a full recovery and will be able to run like he could before. He’s a very lucky boy.’
Lifeboat helm James Hoare said: ‘We’re just so glad we found him quickly as he was cold and shaking as well as injured.
'We wish him all the very best and the fastest possible recovery.’
