Welsh animal shelter sees 150 dogs given up in just one day
An independent animal shelter has rescued 150 dogs and brought them to its base in just one day. Many Tears Animal Rescue, based in Cefneithin, Carmarthenshire, welcomed the staggering influx of new residents to its shelter on Thursday, September 28 and is appealing for financial donations to help them fund the medical care, food and other items the pooches desperately need.
The new additions mark the "biggest intake" of dogs they've ever accepted into their care. All the dogs were "desperate and overwhelmed" when they arrived, but with "eyes full of hope," staff added.
The team at Many Tears has pledged to find a loving home for every one of their new residents and is appealing for people to consider fostering or adopting one or more of the dogs.
All of the canines will be given any necessary surgeries or medications and will be neutered before they are given to their new families, as per Many Tears' policy.
Some of the pooches require "immediate and very expensive specialist care," including Borgon, a tiny pug, who appears to be having heart-failure and needs to see a cardiologist.
